Z80 Cartridge with 8MHz for Commodore C64
My well known 8MHz Z80 cartridge for the Commodore C64 in a cartridge compatible board format, smaller but just as powerful!

The Commodore CP/M cartridge on adrenaline and modernized, so you could also call my new adapter. And more compatible it is as well. With 8MHz clock frequency and the entire control logic in a CPLD also become extremely small.
The EasyGate1541 was previously only available for the “old” 1541. The later 1541-II got another gate array from Commodore, which has even more functionalities integrated. It was about time that an alternative was created.
After I presented my last TriMod adapter prototype based on CPLD, I was asked if a version could be made that would fit into a closed 1541. So I optimized the whole thing a little bit and developed a PCB.
Building the ZX1541 interface in SMD was no problem, at least as far as the space required for the given board dimensions was concerned. It was a bit more tricky to realize the whole thing with THT components with unchanged dimensions. It wasn’t easy, but in the end it worked out.
